VOLUNTEER EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR / D.O.C.
Nick has been playing soccer since he could walk and coaching young leaders both and off the pitch for nearly 15 years. He won 5 state club titles in New Mexico, where he was part of the Olympic Development Program and competed with and against various USMNT players. He won 3 state high school titles and was an All-State midfielder as part of a storied Saint Pius X program that climbed to #3 in national rankings during his tenure. In addition to coaching several of the club’s most advanced teams, Nick leads the Athlos Leadership Academy soccer program and is building elementary-level programs at neighborhood schools to introduce even more players to “the beautiful game”.
Nick’s coaching philosophy is inspired by thought leaders such as Pep Guardiola as well as top minds in other sports, including John Wooden. He draws inspiration from the “Tiki-taka” style of play and Johan Cryuff’s famous quote: “soccer is simple, but it is difficult to play simple”. Nick believes in “Total Player Development” – creating true communities (not just teams but soccer “families”) that help kids thrive in ALL walks of life by prioritizing long-term progress over shortsighted goals like wins and team records.
